JOB DESCRIPTION
Commercial Accountant
A surging, high-end luxury construction business is seeking a Commercial Accountant to join
their established team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to become an integral
financial support to a growing SME company, reporting directly to the Management Team.
This role is being created by Company growth, you will join an experienced Finance Team that
works in a fast paced but supportive environment and the role will offer a varied workload to
a commercially aware finance professional.
An AAT/CIMA/ACCA fully qualified applicant with strong Excel skills and previous commercial
experience is desired. Although, part qualified applicants with commercial experience will be
considered.
Day to day accounting tasks:
Monitor and approve Online Banking activity
Overview the ‘cloud’ Accounting package to maintain quality and accuracy of the data
Create journal entries as required
Monthly payroll duties
An ability to ‘think outside the box’ and find solutions is a must
Maintain the integrity of accounting records:
Monitor reconciliation of the Bank and Credit Card transactions on a weekly basis
Balance sheet reconciliations - review, investigate and resolve on a weekly basis
Nominal, purchase and sales ledgers, and fixed asset register.
Management reporting:
Monthly management accounts – including P&L and Balance Sheet
Weekly cash flow (plus 2 months forecast) and Aged Debtors and Creditor reports
HMRC – CIS / VAT
Monitor and file monthly CIS returns
Monitor and file monthly VAT returns
Enhancing financial systems and controls:
Promote strong team work to maintain the productivity of accounting systems
Maintain and improve financial controls and procedures
Proactively seek enhancements to financial systems and processes
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: up to £45,000.00 /year
Reporting to:
Financial Controller & Management Team.
Experience:
Finance: 3 years (Preferred)
