Overview:

​

A surging, high-end luxury construction business is seeking a Commercial Accountant to join
their established team on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to become an integral
financial support to a growing SME company, reporting directly to the Management Team.
This role is being created by Company growth, you will join an experienced Finance Team that
works in a fast paced but supportive environment and the role will offer a varied workload to
a commercially aware finance professional.

An AAT/CIMA/ACCA fully qualified applicant with strong Excel skills and previous commercial
experience is desired. Although, part qualified applicants with commercial experience will be
considered.

Day to day accounting tasks:

​

• Monitor and approve Online Banking activity

• Overview the ‘cloud’ Accounting package to maintain quality and accuracy of the data

• Create journal entries as required 

• Monthly payroll duties

• An ability to ‘think outside the box’ and find solutions is a must

​

Maintain the integrity of accounting records:

 

 

• Monitor reconciliation of the Bank and Credit Card transactions on a weekly basis

• Balance sheet reconciliations - review, investigate and resolve on a weekly basis

• Nominal, purchase and sales ledgers, and fixed asset register.

 

Management reporting:

• Monthly management accounts – including P&L and Balance Sheet

• Weekly cash flow (plus 2 months forecast) and Aged Debtors and Creditor reports

HMRC – CIS / VAT

​

• Monitor and file monthly CIS returns

• Monitor and file monthly VAT returns

 

Enhancing financial systems and controls:

 

• Promote strong team work to maintain the productivity of accounting systems

• Maintain and improve financial controls and procedures

• Proactively seek enhancements to financial systems and processes

 

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: up to £45,000.00 /year

 

Reporting to:

Financial Controller & Management Team.
 

Experience:
Finance: 3 years (Preferred)
